Obituary of John Nemjo
John Nemjo, 89, passed away on September 10, 2022 at his daughter’s home in Millstone Township. He was born in Carteret and later lived in Edison and since 1966 in Holmdel Township, NJ.
He was a military policeman in the U.S. Army stationed in Bad Nauheim, Germany during the Korean War.
Mr. Nemjo was a shop supervisor at Bell Laboratories, Holmdel until his retirement and had an essential role in proving the Big Bang Theory in the 1960’s.
He was dedicated husband and father and loved to garden. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, a Junior Achievement coordinator at Bell Labs, and a Boy Scout Troop leader in Holmdel.
He was predeceased by his father, Michael Nemjo; his mother, Susan Nemjo; his wife, Vivian Nemjo; and his siblings, Michael Nemjo, Mary Sosnowski, and Anna Chamra and of course Queen Elizabeth.
Surviving are his children, John Nemjo, Vivian Nemjo Flynn, and Valarie Taylor; and his grandchildren, Corey Taylor, Nikki Taylor, Sean Flynn, Tristan Nemjo and Tyler Nemjo.
A memorial service will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Friday at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Clover Leaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge.
