Obituary of Adele Grace Passantino

Adele Grace Passantino – known to all of those who loved her as Mima – passed away on June 7, 2022. The viewing will be at Higgins Memorial Home in Freehold on Friday from 3pm-5pm and 7pm-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of St. Rose, 603 Seventh Avenue, Belmar on Saturday at 10:30am. The internment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Freehold. Adele was born on August 5th, 1943, in Brooklyn, New York. She was the third of four sisters: Gloria, Theresa, and Carol who she loved with all her heart. She met the love of her life Frank – or as we call him, Poppy – in junior high school. They were in the same circle of friends for years before they started dating in high school. They both attended Lafayette High School where Mima was Captain of the Baton Twirlers and was voted Prettiest Girl in School. Frank and Adele were married on October 7th, 1961 and had their two sons Frank and James. They moved to Freehold, New Jersey in 1971 and created the most beautiful life together. They lived in that Freehold house up until 2019 and filled it with memories of family Christmases and summer barbeques. Adele will always be remembered as a radiant light in the lives of everyone she met. She was everybody’s best friend and a mother figure to all of those around her. She had the best advice and loved nothing more than spending time with and talking to those she loved. She always had a way of making those around her laugh with stories about her life, and always found a way to spill her glass of red wine at every family dinner. Adele is survived by her husband Frank Passantino, her sister Theresa Cosidente, her sons Frank and James Passantino, their wives Joann and Deb Passantino, and her grandchildren Cassandra, Rachael, Frank III and James Xavier Passantino. She is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Adele Lily Musacchio, her sisters Gloria Capobianco and Carol DiNapoli, and her beloved dog Turbo.
