Obituary of Ethel T. Brittingham

Ethel T. Brittingham, 91 of Freehold, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune Township. Born and raised Elizabeth, she spent over 40 years in Kendall Park before to moving to Freehold 4 ½ years ago. Ethel was employed at several jobs throughout her life, including Underwood Mortgage, Webcraft Printing in North Brunswick and A.D. Sutton & Sons in Somerset, from where she retired in 1993. Ethel had a very big heart, and shared the love with everyone, her greatest happiness and joy was her family. Ethel never forgot a birthday or special event. Her candy dish was never empty, everyone was always welcome, and she made sure no one went without anything. Ethel loved parties, politics, family dinners and all people. If you were kind to her, she liked you and accepted you into her fold. Her smile and laugh were contagious. She was predeceased by her parents, George and Gertrude Rehm Hartman; her husband, William C. Brittingham; and her son, William C. Brittingham, Jr. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Paul Stuart, Hickory, North Carolina; a brother, George Hartman, her sister, Elizabeth Trautmann; five grandchildren, Michelle Rivera and her husband Thomas, Melinda Parris, Holly Whalen and her husband Jaysen, Paul Stuart, Jr., and Timothy Stuart and his wife Corena; and five great grandchildren Alyssa, Thomas, Jaysen, Zackary and Brayden. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, NJ. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 PM. Interment will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 1:30 PM at Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick.
