Obituary of Ruth Sackowitz

Ruth M. Sackowitz, 89 of Millstone Township passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on Sunday, March 27, 2022. Ruth was born in New Brunswick, NJ on April 21, 1932 and grew up in Lakewood, NJ. She went on to eventually meet the love of her life, the late Harry Sackowitz (2009). The two lived a fairytale marriage for 56 years, together achieving and leaving behind a FANTASTIC legacy. Ruth had a few careers over the years including hotel life, farming, the worlds nicest 6 ½ narrow foot to start a shoe store (The Shoe Buckle of Hightstown, NJ) with her loving husband Harry, but she was most known for the 25 years she taught as a first-grade teacher, retiring from Millstone Township School. Ruth’s most favorite career, however, was being the Matriarch of her family. Though she be but little, she was fierce and loved to lead the way. Ruth is survived by her three sons, Stuart Sackowitz (Wendy Sackowitz, wife), Stanley Sackowitz (Suzanne Bimonte, partner), and Ronald Sackowitz (Carole Sackowitz, wife), her grandchildren, Robert Sackowitz (Sandra Sackowitz), Resa Murawski (Thomas Murawski), Sara Sackowitz (Daniel Pieszchala), Jared Sackowitz (Brittney Sackowitz), Ryan Sackowitz (Lacey Greely), Melissa Sackowitz, Michelle Sackowitz, Sean Sackowitz, Terrie Dixon, and great grandchildren, Tyler Pieszchala, Chase Sackowitz, and Dylan Sackowitz. Funeral services will be held at the Perrineville Jewish Cemetery, Perrineville on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at 1:00pm.
