Obituary of Robert W. Mount, Sr.

Robert W. Mount, Sr., 84, of Monroe Township passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at The Manor, Freehold Township. He was born in Englishtown and was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a construction laborer for Heavy and General Construction Laborers Union Local No. 472, Newark. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was preceded by his parents, Kenneth A. and Marion Groendyke Mount; a daughter and son-in-law, Diane Lynn and Erik Smestad; and a brother, Kenneth A. Mount, Jr. Surviving are his wife, Gloria Bille Mount; his children Rosanne Mount, Robert W. Mount, Jr. and his wife, Rosemarie E. Mount, Linda D. Corby and husband Donald R. Corby, Kenneth A. Mount, and wife Lori D. Mount, Laura J. Mount, and Donald A. Mount; two sisters, Patricia Hulse and Kathleen Glovich; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
