Obituary of Charles E. Ruegger

Charles E. Ruegger, 78, of Freehold Township passed away on Monday, February 21, 2022. Retired at the time of his passing, he had worked his entire career within the retail sector, lastly as a sales representative. He was a communicant of the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, also in Freehold. Surviving are his wife, Mary Patricia Ruegger; six children and their spouses — Charlie and Colleen, Jacqueline and Ray, Brian and Carrie, Peter and Elizabeth, Ann and Joseph, and Matthew and Dana; and ten grandchildren — Charlie, Patrick, Michael, Emily, Caitlin, Madalyne, Carmela, Jonathan, Carly, and Jake. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, Freehold, on Friday at 10:30 a.m. followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent. In lieu of flowers, Mass Cards or memorial donations to the Father Benedict Fund, care of the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold, NJ 07728 would be greatly appreciated.
