Obituary of Joseph J. Strong, Sr.

Joseph J. Strong, Sr., 42, of Millstone Township passed away on February 15, 2022 at home. He was born in Freehold Township and was a lifelong resident of Millstone Township. He was a mechanic for Western Monmouth Utilities Authority, Manalapan Township, for the past 21 years. He was also a mechanic for Double O Contracting, Old Bridge. He was a wonderful person to all who knew him and was a loving and caring husband and father. He enjoyed racecars, shooting with his son, and attending horse shows with his daughter. He was predeceased by his father, Donald Edward Strong. Surviving are his wife, Jill Nilsen Strong; a son, Joseph Strong, Jr.; a daughter, Laci Ann Strong; his mother, Kathleen Biddle Strong; a brother, Donald Strong; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Douglas and Kathi Nilsen; two brothers-in-law, Douglas Nilsen and wife Crystal and Kyle Nilsen and wife Amanda; Jill’s grandmother, Jean Suydam; and two nieces, Dixie and Fallon and a nephew, Douglas. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Sunday from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 10 a.m. followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent.
