Obituary of Marie M. Lombardi

Marie M. Lombardi, 88, of Manalapan Township, formerly of Newark, passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Mattison Crossing, Freehold. Mrs. Lombardi was employed by the Newark Board of Education before her retirement in 1998. She was predeceased by a brother, John Schaeffer and a sister, Elizabeth Flatley. Surviving are a daughter, Linda Martone and her husband John; a brother, William Schaeffer; two grandchildren, John J. Martone and wife Tina and Nicole Filippone and husband Matt; and four great grandchildren, Giancarlo and Giacomo Martone and Anthony and Arianna Filippone. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, 16 McLean Street, Freehold on Friday at 10:30 a.m. followed by entombment at St. Gabriel’s Cemetery, Marlboro Township. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis TN (www.stjude.org) would be appreciated. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
