Obituary of Michael William Coughlin

Michael William Coughlin, 60, of Howell, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 11, 2022. Born in Neptune, NJ, and raised in Freehold, Michael lived in Georgia and Mexico, before moving to Howell in 2006. Michael was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, stationed in Norfolk, VA. Michael was predeceased by his father Edward N. Coughlin. He is survived by his mother Marianne Coughlin; his devoted wife of 17 years, Natalia; his children Neil Garland, CA; Brittany Swann (Ryan), GA; Brianna Coughlin, TN; Larissa Trovamala, NJ; and grandchildren Walden and Mayah Mae. He is also survived by his three brothers, Kevin Coughlin, Edward Coughlin (Amy), Daniel Coughlin (Janet), and sister Colleen Ippolito (Edward), his former spouse and good friend Diane Coughlin and many nieces and nephews. Following his military service he worked for Ge-Ray Fabrics before moving back to New Jersey in 2006 to work in the family business. Michael was an avid reader with a lifelong passion for knowledge. He spent years dedicated to uncovering his family’s genealogy and had an unconditional love for family and friends. His generous heart, boundless sense of humor, and quick-wit will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have met him. He lived life to the fullest, and will be deeply missed by his family and friends. A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 5pm-8pm at the Higgins Memorial Home 20 Center St, Freehold. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church in Freehold. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation www.t2t.org.
