Obituary of Stephen Morris
Stephen Morris, 74, of Freehold died Thursday, December 2, 2021 peacefully at home surrounded by family. Born to Andrew and Mary Morris, Stephen lived his entire life in Freehold.
As a child, he loved working in his father’s shop in downtown Freehold. His passion for classic cars ranged from the hundreds of toy model cars he built to the 57’ Chevy he restored and cherished.
After attending Freehold Regional High School, he went on to serve in the United States Army, Company C, 504 Military Police, in Vietnam.
He later served as Grand Knight of Freehold Council No. 1672, Knights of Columbus. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 54, Freehold.
For over 55 years he owned a title searching company, SRM Title Services, Freehold.
He leaves behind an enduring passion for life, knowledge, and strength.
He was predeceased by his parents, a brother, Raymond Andrew Morris, and a sister, Anne Smith.
He is survived by his son Stephen; daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Joseph Grabowski; son Jeffrey; brother Robert Morris and sister-in-law Diana; grandchildren, Gabrielle, Joseph and Charlotte Grabowski; three nieces, Cindy Pusey and husband George and their children, Jacqueline, Kimberly and Robert, Laura Strope and husband Brian and their children, Nicholas and Kaitlyn, and Jill Henig and husband Stephan and their children, Courtney, Zachary, and Erik.
Viewing services will be held at Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center St., Freehold NJ. Sunday, Dec 5 from 2-6 p.m. The next day, Monday, Dec. 6, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold at 10:30 AM. followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery.
