Obituary of Diane M. Rathschmidt

Diane M. Rathschmidt, 86, of Hatfield, Pennsylvania, formerly of Freehold, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Silver Stream Nursing and Rehabilitation, Spring House, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Rathschmidt was born in Freehold and had resided there before moving to Pennsylvania. She was a telephone operator for New Jersey Bell Telephone Company, Freehold before her retirement. Mrs. Rathschmidt was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Freehold and the Telephone Pioneers of America. Her husband, Robert Rathschmidt, died in 2014. She was also predeceased by a son, T.J. Rathschmidt in 1972 and her brother, Walter J Baillie, Jr. in 2004. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Robert E. and Kathy Rathschmidt; a daughter, Mary Ann Flynn and husband Joseph; five grandchildren, Rob Rathschmidt, Kelly Horner and her husband Erin, J.P. Flynn and wife Linda, Thomas Flynn, and Sara Flynn; and five great grandchildren, Nora, Logan, Riley, Owen, and Noah. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold.
