Obituary of Louise Margaret Minerchak
Louise Margaret Minerchak, of Marlboro Township passed away peacefully at the age of 102 on November 11, 2021. Born in Gillingham, Kent, England, she was working as a bus conductress during World War II where she met her future husband Private Joseph Minerchak who was stationed in High Wycombe.
They married in London in December 1942. She came to the United States as a War Bride on the troop ship Queen Elizabeth in 1944 with her infant daughter Bonnie. They were married for 72 years until his death in 2014.
They raised their children in Union County, NJ and after an early retirement, moved to West Sussex, England. Upon return to the U.S., they resided in Whiting, NJ and eventually settled in Marlboro Township, Monmouth County, NJ.
She was an avid knitter and seamstress and made beautiful handmade teddy bears. Louise and her husband were members of the Linden Sportsmen’s Rod and Gun Club.
She is survived by her sister Helen Puttick; two daughters, Jacqueline and Linda; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph and her daughter Bonnie.
Viewing will be Tuesday, November 16, 2021, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 12:30 P.M. followed by interment at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown.
