Obituary of Christina Katerinis

Christina Katerinis, 97, of Freehold Township died Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at home. Mrs. Katerinis was born in Newark. Mrs. Katerinis was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church and a former member of the Freehold Township Independent Fire Company No. 1 Auxiliary. She was predeceased by her husband, Anastasios Katerinis in 1993; a son, Nicholas Katerinis in 2003; a granddaughter, Anne Marie; and a daughter-in-law, Zina Katerinis. Surviving are three sons, George Katerinis, Freehold Township, William Katerinis (Barbara), Yuma, Arizona, and Michael Katerinis (Harry Kaut); a daughter-in-law, Harriet Katerinis; four grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1033 West Park Ave., Ocean Township on Monday at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold.
