Obituary of Eleanor Hirsch

Eleanor Hirsch, 90, of Freehold, NJ passed away on November 5, 2021 while convalescing at the Jewish Home for Rehabilitation and Nursing, Freehold Township. She grew up in Elizabeth, NJ and attended Florida Southern College before returning to work at Bamberger’s in Newark, N.J. W hile working there she met her then future husband Henry. They married in 1952 and moved to Freehold where they raised three children, Jeffrey, Jill, and Lynn. Eleanor was member of the Sisterhood of Congregation Agudath Achim/Freehold Jewish Center. She worked for 17 years as a receptionist for Central Jersey Bank and Trust Company before retiring in 1992. She is survived by her husband, Henry; and their three children, Jeffrey and wife Diane, Jill and husband Marty O’Brien, and Lynn and her husband Justin Logan. Eleanor has three grandchildren, Sean O’Brien, Heather Rand and Laura Hirsch as well as two great grandchildren, Alexa and Gianna Rand. Graveside services will be held at Congregation Agudath Achim Cemetery, Route 33, Freehold on Sunday, November 7th at 11:00 a.m. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
