Obituary of Frank Christopher Ferlazzo
Frank Christopher Ferlazzo, son of the late Roy Ferlazzo and Mildred Ferlazzo, died at home on Monday, October 4. Frank was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 12, 1951 and grew up in Staten Island, attending Monsignor Farrell High School.
Frank graduated Wagner College with a degree in music education, earned a Masters Degree from Kean College in Supervision and Administration, and was a professional musician and singer, playing many gigs over the years.
He married Janet King on July 17, 1977 had their children, Darren and Jenna, and settled in New Jersey soon after.
Frank was a lifetime employee of Roselle Park School System, starting as an elementary school music teacher and moving onto high school marching band director, jazz band director, high school vice principal, high school principal and ultimately assistant superintendent.
He truly had a passion for teaching and touched many lives over his years in education. Frank is a long time train buff and is the President of Jersey Central N-Trak train club. Frank loved camping, spending time with friends and family, and above all, his grandchildren.
Frank is survived by his loving wife Janet, son Darren and wife Amanda, daughter Jenna Ferlazzo and husband Jakub Mrozek, and grandchildren Christopher, Evan, Patrick and Emery. Frank is also survived by a very large and loving extended family.
