Obituary of Richard Paul "Rich" Yoncak

Richard Paul Yoncak "Rich", 73 of Freehold Township died Saturday August 28th, 2021. He was raised on the family farm in Marlboro, then lived in Freehold Borough, and later moved to Freehold Township. He was a graduate of Freehold High School, Class of 1966. He was a member of the U.S. Navy Reserves being Honorably Discharged in 1972. Rich has worked for Levit & Sons, Beth's Greenhouses, Freehold Lawn, owned Village Green Lawn & Grounds and then worked at Major Tool, Freehold. In his retirement he fixed things for many friends and neighbors, he liked keeping busy. He is a member of The Reformed Church of Freehold and the Minit Stop Men's Club. He is predeceased by his brother Albert, his daughter Catherine May, and dog Blackie. He is survived by his wife Lorraine Hanson Yoncak; his daughter Pamela Anne Yoncak and Joseph Shafto of Brick; his son Paul Andrew Yoncak and Delaney Gray of Freehold; his brother, Walter Stanley & Irene Yoncak of Virginia; and many nieces and nephews We will celebrate Rich's life with a gathering at Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center St. Freehold, on Wednesday September 8th from 4 to 7 p.m. His funeral service will be held at The Reformed Church of Freehold, 67 W. Main St., Freehold on Thursday September 9th at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold with a repast luncheon to follow at the church. Masks are required at both indoor gatherings. Memorial donations may be made to the Freehold Reformed Church or fix something for a neighbor or friend in memory of Rich.
