Obituary of Christopher George Kilbride

Christopher George Kilbride 8/23/1973-8/16/2021 Chris was born in Red Bank New Jersey and raised on Woodfield Christmas Tree Plantation in Colts Neck NJ. His curiosity for machinery and hard work started at an early age at the farm. He was rebuilding engines and operating machinery by the time he was 10 years old. He progressed as mechanic and machine operator during his first job at Eastmont Orchards. He moved on to work for Slope Brook Farm throughout his time at Marlboro High School. After school he continued to work for Slope Brook Farm for several years. During those years he also took up hunting which he loved. He spent countless hours in the woods and was able to take many prize bucks. He also started racing at Wall stadium and did very well both as a driver and his own crew chief. Chris moved on from Slope Brook to spend several years working for Spatial Design Inc. He played an important role in the construction of the golf course of what is now Trump National Colts Neck, as well as the surrounding homes and infrastructure. After all major projects were completed at Spatial Design, Chris continued his career with K&R Sitework in Freehold. Chris eventually came full circle and returned to Eastmont Orchards where he helped in various aspects of the operation of retail farming. He decided to go back to his passion for car racing and purchased a racecar in 2019 and recruited a promising young driver Neil Rutt III. Chris saw something special in Neil and generously donated numerous hours per week to make sure the car was fast every week and made sure to share his knowledge of racing and car setup with Neil and his team. Chris lived for race day and was so proud of the success they have been having and the camaraderie that goes with competing in motorsports. Chris will be missed buy many and is survived by his mother Norma Kilbride, his brothers William(wife Kerry) and Robert(wife Katherine) and his nephew Jack and nieces Katherine, Abagail and Natalie. A memorial gathering will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Sunday, August 29, 2021 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. in lieu of flowers, please make donations to a GoFundMe page (https://gofund.me/292a280a) to help Chris's race team complete the 2021 season in his memory.
