Obituary of Carl Winston Hill, Sr.

Carl Winston Hill, Sr. was born May 22nd, 1941 in Hardaway, Alabama. He was one of 15 children born to the late Milobelia and Charlie Hill, Sr. He attended elementary school in Hardaway, Alabama and graduated from Prairie Farm High School in Shorter, Alabama. The Family migrated north to Englishtown, New Jersey settling in Farmingdale, New Jersey in 1954. Carl became a member of Bethany Baptist Church, Farmingdale, New Jersey, where he joined the Men’s Chorus. In 1961, Carl was joined in Holy Matrimony to Regina C. White and from this union three children were born. Carl was a mason, specializing in concrete and brick masonry for over 40 years, working in the family-owned business, BMW and Hill Construction Company. Carl was member of the Fraternal Organization of the International Masons. Carl was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed watching both the New York Mets and Yankees. Carl is predeceased by six brothers, George, John, Curtis, Herman, Perry and Douglas MacArthur; four sisters, Missie Howard, Thelma Ellington, Loretta Hayes, and Ruby Jean Colbert; one son, Terrance Anthony Hill; in-laws, Azalea Hill, Edgar Ellington, and George Colbert; and former wife and friend, Regina Hill. He transitioned from labor to reward on August 9, 2021. Carl leaves to cherish his memory his two children and faithful caregivers - Carl Winston Hill, Jr. and wife Maria; and Miesha Shalon Hill-DeJesus and husband Pedro; grandchildren - Sukeria Loftland, Charisse L. Hill, MiAna A. Hill, YuriAn K. DeJesus, Ethan L. DeJesus and Anina I. Hill; great grandchildren - Amari and Andrew; God Son - Edward Howard; special niece - Geraldine Conyers; brothers - Charlie Jr. (Lois) of Farmingdale; Jack of Minnesota; Larry (Norma Jean) of Neptune; and one sister, Sarah Mae Johnson.
