Obituary of Helen Okerson Nivison
Helen Okerson Nivison, 99, of Marlboro Township died Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at home. She was born on the family farm in Jerseyville section of Howell Township.
Mrs. Nivison was a first grade teacher at the Southard and Aldrich Schools, Howell Township. Following her retirement from the Howell Schools she was a teacher at the Central Baptist Christian Academy, Avenel.
She was a member of the Robertsville Bible Church, Marlboro Township for over 70 years where she served as church organist, Sunday School teacher, church treasurer, church choir member, and Ladies Aid Society.
She was a member of the former Freehold Area Hospital Auxiliary and the Robertsville Fire Company Auxiliary.
She was predeceased by a son Charles Clayton and two sisters, Louise Koenig and Ann Pease.
Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Robert M. Nivison; a son and daughter-in-law, Stanley and Pamela Clayton; a daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and David Sagers; a brother, Henry Okerson; seven grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.
The viewing will be held at the Robertsville Bible Church, 2 Church Road, Morganville on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Funeral services will be held at the church on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent. Memorial donations to the Robertsville Bible Church would be appreciated.
