Obituary of Rita A. O'Reilly

Rita A. O’Reilly, of Freehold NJ, passed away at the age of 77 on Friday, May 28, 2021. Rita was born June 19, 1943 to Michael and Rita Minarovich in NYC. Rita was predeceased by her parents and younger brothers Robert, Michael and Thomas. Rita married her childhood sweetheart, Joseph O’Reilly on August 21, 1965. Together, they set down roots in Freehold Township where they raised their young family. Rita and Joe were proud and some of the earliest parishioners of the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine. As Rita’s youngest daughter reached high school, Rita entered the workforce with Ballew Jewelers in downtown Freehold. As fate would have it, the Rolex representative was impressed with, not only, Rita’s technical skillset but her unique abilities with her loyal customers. Eventually, Rita was recruited by Rolex to work in their New York City headquarters on 5th Avenue, where she rose to Customer Service Manager. Surviving are her children: Suzanne (husband Jim Lizotte), Christopher, and Jennifer (husband Jonah Ninger). The center of Rita’s life, however, were her seven grandchildren who affectionately referred to her as “Mimi”: Carley, Kevin, John, Michael, Thomas, Caroline and Andrew. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am, Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township. The interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold.
