Obituary of Valentina Jensen

Valentina Jensen, age 74, of Spring Hill, Florida passed away Friday, May 14th, 2021. She was born July 17th, 1946, to Ukrainian parents, Ivan and Olga Janovsky who were war refugees in Hanover, Germany, at the time of her birth. Her family transferred to Brazil from 1948-1967 until they immigrated to the United States when Valentina was 21 years old. She earned naturalization as a U.S. citizen at the age of 26. For 28 years, Valentina was a Portuguese and Spanish translator and typist for McGraw Hill in Trenton, New Jersey, while also working part-time in a travel agency. She enjoyed traveling to Egypt, Austria, and many other foreign places. Valentina moved to Florida in 1996 where she met widower Herb Jensen and married September 23rd, 2006. Herb preceded Valentina in death September 9th, 2019 after almost 13 years of marriage. Valentina considered March 30th, 1999, the most important event of her life when at the age of 53 she accepted Jesus as her Master and Savior. Her adult hobby was reading and studying the Bible. One of her favorite verses being Psalm 37:4 “Delight yourself in the Lord; and he shall give you the desires of your heart.” A celebration of life service will be held in her honor at Spring Hill Bible Church 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 29th, with a luncheon to follow.
