Obituary of Carl Edward Johnson

Carl Edward Johnson, 67 of Lakewood, passed away on Wednesday at his daughter’s home in Brick. Born in Needham, Alabama, he lived in New Jersey and Florida before returning to New Jersey one and a half years ago. Mr. Johnson was a lawn and garden salesman for Walmart, Talahassee, Florida. Prior to that he was in the construction business. He was predeceased by his parents, Freddie L. Johnson, Jr. and Maebel Nicholson Johnson; his stepdaughter, Lachonda Merritt; and five siblings. Surviving is his wife, Theresa A. Kelly Johnson; three daughters, Cassandra Kelly, Wendy Kelly, and Shevonne Kelly, all of Brick; two brothers, Elmer Johnson, Asbury Park, and Mickel Johnson, Conyers, Georgia; two sisters, Linda Johnson and Julia Johnson, both of Alabama; 13 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2021 from 12:00 to 1:00 P.M. at the Higgins Memorial Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M.
