Obituary of Carole Amelia Johnson

Carole Amelia Johnson was born on October 21, 1934 in Colón, Panama. She attended and graduated from Colegio Abel Bravo. She moved to the United States in 1953 and lived in New York. She worked for the New York City Court System. After beginning her family with her husband, Raphael R. Johnson, she traveled with him extensively throughout the United States and in Europe during his career in the United States Army. After returning to the United States, she worked for many years in the Child Welfare System in New Jersey, where she eventually retired. She always enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. She departed this life on Friday, February 19, 2021. She was a long-time member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Freehold, NJ. She is pre-deceased by her former husband, Raphael R. Johnson, her parents, Ernesto and Carmen Berthoud, her aunt and uncle, Stephen and Muriel Jeanmarie and grandmother, Beatriz LaFuente. She is survived by her sister Joan Gallimore, her four children, Raphael Jr., Gregory (Brenda), Judith (Ron) and Tricia, five grandchildren, Dori Oquendo, Bryce Carter, Brandon Carter, Simone Stephens and Michael Stephens II, nephews Kurt Gallimore and Karl Gallimore, niece, Yeisha Gallimore, and many more loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
