Obituary of Leocadia Burt Budnick

Leocadia Burt-Budnick, 99, of Freehold, passed away peacefully Friday, February 5th with her son and daughter-in-law by her side. Born and raised in Freehold Borough, Lee graduated from the Freehold Borough High School in 1939 and moved on to attend Rider University. Naval Weapons Station Earle was fortunate enough to have Lee as a Budget Analyst for 34 years before retiring in 1977. For the two years following her retirement, she worked in the Monmouth County Superintendent of Elections Office. Upon retiring Lee made many trips to Atlantic City to play the slot machines where her luck was very good to her. Up until recently, she enjoyed her Misty Light 100's cigarettes and her daily vodka martini. Lee was predeceased by her parents Lawrence & Anna Reynolds, her husband Alexander Budnick, her sisters Anna Glovich, Ethel Carlson, Prudence Talnak, and her brother Lawrence Reynolds. She leaves behind her only son Harry Burt and daughter-in-law Annette, her granddaughters Josephine Lee Higgins and her husband Jay, & Abigail Marie Burt, and great-grandchildren Colin & Lilyana Higgins. Lee was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She lived a long and beautiful life. Visitation will be held at Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street Freehold, on February 10th from 4pm to 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Rose of Lima Church, at 10:30am on Thursday, February 11th with interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Monmouth County SPCA.
