Obituary of Charles A. Bantin
Charles A. Bantin, 84, of Manalapan Township died on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune Township. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y.
He served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves.
Charlie was an electrical foreman for General Motors, Linden for over 40 years before his retirement.
He was an active communicant of St. Gabriel’s Church, Marlboro Township where he served as an usher and bingo volunteer. He was also a former Boy Scout and Indian Princess leader and member of the Boy Scouts of America, Order of the Arrow.
Charlie was a Past Grand Knight of Father McGivney Council No. 6392, Knights of Columbus, Marlboro/Lincroft; a Past Faithful Navigator of Monsignor Kivelitz General Assembly, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus; and a member of Prince of Peace Council No. 5903. Englishtown.
His wife, Maryjane A. Bantin, died in 2009.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, James G. Bantin and Anabela Pacheco Bantin; a daughter, Marie Bantin and her partner, Chick Blauser; a granddaughter, Nicole; and his two dogs, Coco and Bryce.
Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated St. Gabriel’s Church, 100 North Main Street, Marlboro on Monday at 10:30 a.m. followed by interment at the parish cemetery.
