Obituary of Margaret Mary Moore
Margaret Mary Moore (Peggy), 74 years old, of Manalapan, passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 from complications due to Covid-19.
Peggy was born on November 14, 1946 to Henry and Tessie Struyf in Neptune, New Jersey. She had just celebrated her 74th birthday. She was predeceased by her parents Henry and Tessie Struyf, her brothers John and Gerald Struyf and her ex-husbands George Lake and Peter Moore.
She is survived by her brother William and his wife Sonna Struyf of Des Moines, IA and her sister Joan and her husband Stanley Tvaroha of Clayton DE.
She is also survived by her four daughters, Monica and her husband John Tomaini of Warwick, NY, Veronica Lake of Sellers SC, Stephanie and her husband Joseph Borgia of Tinton Falls, NJ and Jennifer Moore of Manalapan, NJ. She also leaves behind grandchildren Isabella and Dominic Borgia and countless relatives and friends.
A graduate of Freehold Regional High School, she was the bookkeeper for ShopRite of Lakewood for over 30 years. Peggy was very dedicated to her job and often shared fond memories of her co-workers and the many friends she made along the way. Throughout her life, she took great pride in raising her four children and often said she wanted to open her home up to children in need.
After retiring in 2014, she lovingly doted on her grandchildren and smiled ear to ear whenever she was with them. Dominic would always run out the door yelling “Ama, Ama,” only stopping when he was in her arms. Isabella loved making surprise crafts for her and always wanted to make her proud.
She was a superior cook, the type that never needed a recipe. Everyone in the family would request her potato salad, rice pudding and pilaf, just to name just a few.
Peggy’s gentle, loving nature was felt by all who encountered her. She was an angel here on earth and now God called her to be one by his side. She will be dearly missed.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Higgins Memorial Home in Freehold, New Jersey. Due to Covid restrictions a celebration of Peggy’s life will be held at a later date.
