Obituary of Robert A. Smith

Robert “Bobby” Arthur Smith, age 79, passed away on December 20, 2020 at Deborah Heart and Lung Center, Pemberton Township. He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Josephine Kuzava Smith. Robert lived his entire life in Monmouth County. He also served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1963 with a tour in Korea, and was honorably discharged. He worked 36 years with NJ Bell, AT&T and Lucent Technologies in Monmouth County. Robert was an avid fan of hunting, horse racing, NHRA drag racing, pool, cards, and professional sports. Robert is survived by his wife and love of his life, Martha Reid Smith. He is also survived by an aunt Ruth Kuzava and her four children and grandchildren; a cousin, Don Rooney and wife Pam, their three children and grandchildren; and four Godchildren, Ira Matthews III, Lynda Matthews Glenn, Thomas Matthews, and Stacey Rooney, and their families. Visitation will be at Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Deborah Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
