Obituary of Clarence Anderson Dowridge

Clarence Anderson Dowridge of Freehold Township, NJ passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, October 3, 2020 where he was surrounded by his loved ones. He was 67. “Andy” as he was affectionately called, was born in Barbados on August 3, 1953 to Clarence and Violet Stuart. He migrated to Freehold, New Jersey in 1991 and was married to his wife, Harriet, for 28 years. An enthusiastic chef, Clarence worked as a dietary aide for John L. Montgomery for 18 years until his retirement in 2015. He is survived by his wife Harriet, his daughter Donnet MacFarlane (Lee) (CA), his son Malique Stefan Dowridge (Freehold), and his step-daughter Jaimie Phillips (Dwayne) (NJ). Clarence is also survived by his three grandchildren, Kayden MacFarlane, Trey, and Blair Phillips. In addition, Clarence leaves behind his sisters and brothers, Dowlene, Janet, Darnley, and Henry (Barbados). His nieces and nephews, Carol Ann Howell (GA), Kiam (GA), Kevin (NY), Ryan (NY) and a host of other relatives in Barbados. Additionally, Clarence is survived by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Barbara and Whitfield Morris and sisters and brothers- in-law,Raymond Mounter (Wendy), Gregory Mounter (Denise), Susan Ramirez (Donald), Sandra Mounter, Sharon Lorenzi (Thomas), and Gale Morris. His best friend Desmond Bascombe (Delaware) and his wife, Delores. Richard Bowen of Connecticut ,and a lot of friends he met during his lifetime. Special thanks to Dr Lamba and the staff of RCCA, Freehold NJ USA. It is his wish that there will be no viewing or service. A Memorial Service of his cremated remains will be held in Barbados at a later date.
