Obituary of Eugene Thomas Determann

Eugene T. Determann, 87 of Manalapan Township died at his home on Friday, September 4, 2020. Gene was married to the love of his life, his beloved late wife Patricia for over 50 years. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was very proud of his Marine Corps service and lived the Marine motto, Semper Fi. He was a graduate of St. John’s University. He was an assistant vice president of the Equitable Life Insurance Company, where he spent his entire professional career. He was a charter member of the Yorktowne Club, a long-time parishioner of St. Thomas More Church, and a charter board member of Walk With Joe. Survived by his loving children Debra, Tom, Barbara, Patty and Carolyn; along with their spouses and his nine grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Thomas More Church, 186 Gordons Corner Road, Manalapan on Tuesday at 10 a.m. followed by entombment at Marlboro Memorial Cemetery, Marlboro Township. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorial donations to Walk With Joe or the American Cancer Society.
