Obituary of Edward Bazelewsky

Edward Bazelewsky, 88, died August 13, 2020, at home surrounded by his family. Ed was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and a loyal friend to many. Ed was born August 29, 1931. He was born in New York City after his parents migrated from Poland. Ed’s life was spent between New York and New Jersey, after his parents purchased property in Clarksburg. Ed took interest in boxing and performed in a Polish Dance group. In his teen years, he began working to help support his family. From then on out, Ed had numerous occupations and retired as a Resident Manager of a high rise building from Kibel Company in March of 1993. Ed also served as a Medic in the United States Navy in WWII. Ed and Olga were married August 29th 1968, and together raised 8 children. Ed was an avid New York Mets fan, New York Jets fan, and enjoyed golfing and shuffleboard. One of Ed’s greatest passions was the time that he served with the Elks Organization. Ed was a Charter Member of Millstone Elks Lodge No. 2613 of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks joining in June 1980. During his service he was a very active and dedicated member and served as Exalted Ruler four times and as Vice President of the South-Central District for the Elk Year 2004-05. Ed was not a person to idly stand by; he had to be involved in all phases of the Order. He served and was a member of every Lodge Committee the Elks have and was the Charter Chairman of the Special Children’s Committee assisting and improving the lives of hundreds of those less fortunate for forty years. His other special interest was the Veterans Committee of which he made sure the no Veteran in our area would be in need or forgotten for their service. He was privileged to be recognized and awarded Elk of the Year two times, the highest recognition an Elk can receive, and Officer of the Year twice during his terms of Office. Ed was and is the soul of what it is to be an Elk. His dedication to all the people of the Lodge and the people he touched is the corner stone upon which the Order of Elks is founded.
