We were teenage friends. Joey’s wife, Carol, was one of my wife Judy’s best friends growing up. Joey and I worked together at M&S Oil and also Monmouth County Shade Tree Commission. When Joey became a postal carrier, I became a police officer in Freehold Borough. My in-laws were best friends with Joe & Claire. Joey was a great guy and one of the hardest workers I ever knew.
