Obituary of Susan M. Belz

Susan M. Belz, 73, of Clarksburg passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune Township. Mrs. Belz was born in Orange and had resided in Colonia before moving to Clarksburg in 1971. Mrs. Belz was an elementary school teacher at the Mawbey Street School in Woodbridge before dedicating herself at home to raise her three children. She later returned to education as long-standing school board member in her town as well as a substitute teacher in both Robbinsville and Hamilton. Her late husband, John Joseph Belz, passed away in 2010. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, John and Michele Belz; two daughters and sons-in-law, Erin and Damien Houlihan, and Meghan and Gregory Hillman; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Sandy McLaughlin; and her grandchildren, John, Juliana, and Joseph Belz; Keira, Delaney, and Quinn Houlihan; and Molly and Sean Hillman. Due to the current restrictions, a private interment will be held at the Old Tennent Cemetery located in Manalapan Township. A memorial service in celebration of her life will be held at a future time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
