Obituary of Earl Francis Matthews

Earl Frances Matthews February 12, 1928 – March 21, 2020 On Saturday evening, March 21, 2020, our Heavenly Father stepped into our home and took one of his beloved children, Earl Frances Matthews. Earl was the beloved son of the late George Matthews and Blanche VanBuren. He was born in Onley, VA, on February 12, 1928; and attended school in Accomac, VA. Earl joined the Army, serving in World War II, shortly after moving to Freehold, NJ. He was employed, for 50 years, as a Laborer in Local 156, New Brunswick, NJ. He was last employed with the Monroe Board of Education; and was a member of Bibleway Pentecostal, under the leadership of Pastor John Grant. Earl is predeceased by his wife Cora; and two sons, Stanley and David. Earl leaves to cherish his memory, four daughters: Antoinette Powell, Freehold; Mary Sconiers, Monroe Twp.; Patricia Matthews(Paul), Jackson; and Diane Matthews, Howell; four sons: Earl Jr. (Denise), Clearwater, FL; Robert Matthews, Freehold; George Matthews (Shondell), Lakewood; and Danny Matthews (Christine), Freehold; and one sister, Dyan Lawler, Freehold; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
