Obituary of Peter Patrick Byk

Peter Patrick Byk, 91, of East Windsor Township died Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Hamilton Township. He was born in Freehold. Mr. Byk served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from Tri-State College, Angola, Indiana. He was a teacher in the Jackson Schools before his retirement. Mr. Byk was an avid fisherman, boater, and vegetable and flower gardener. Surviving are three sons, Peter D. Byk and wife Cheryl, Michael J. Byk, and Steven G. Byk; a daughter, Catherine A. Attara and husband Mark; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the American Lung Association or the Susan G. Komen Foundation would be appreciated.
