Jamie Shay posted a condolence
Sunday, September 13, 2020
I just read about this today - and I am devastated. Maxine, I am so sorry - I have been thinking a lot about you over the years, and did try to reach out, but have been moving around the country so it has been difficult.
Karl was a kind man. He reminded me of my father, a strong German background with the personality to go with it. He never failed to welcome me and my daughter into his home - and I always considered the entire Rauch family as part of my own family.
I am so sorry to have taken so long to find out this terrible loss.
Sending love, Jamie

Meeting Mr. Rauch for the first time seven years ago was lots of fun. Marines of different generations have a tendency to size up one another. Just the same, over the years, commonalities and shared core values never wavered. St. Peter welcomes you to assume duties of overwatch for those who share your legacy. Semper Fi, Mark M.
