Obituary of Arthur Bendian

Arthur Bendian, 86 of Matawan passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge.  Bon in Pont Aubenas, France, he lived in Fairview, Union City and North Bergen prior to moving to Matawan five years ago.

Mr. Bendian was a laborer for Local No. 3, Laborer’s International Union of North America.

He was a communicant of St. Ambrose Church, Old Bridge.  Prior to that, he was an active member of St. Augustine’s Church, Union City.

He was predeceased by his parents and his five siblings.

Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Martha Jovita Rodriguez Bendian; his daughter, Annette Slitas, Manalapan Township; and three grandchildren, Christofer, Michael and Alexia Slitas.

Visitation will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, on Saturday, December 21, 2019 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM.  Mass will be celebrated at 3:00 PM.
