Obituary of James J. Glennon
James J. Glennon, 78, of Howell Township, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at home. Born in Danville, Pennsylvania, he lived in Shamokin, Pennsylvania prior to moving to the Freehold area over 50 years ago.
Mr. Glennon was a manufacturer’s representative for Bland & Glennon, New York City, New York for 23 years, retiring in 1998. He was also employed by the J.J. Newberry Company for 20 years.
He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Freehold.
He was predeceased by his parents, James P. and Stella Ghezzi Glennon, and two brothers, Patrick and John Glennon.
Surviving are his beloved wife of almost 60 years, Jane A. Olcese Glennon; his devoted children, Michael and his wife, Karen Glennon, Lansdale, Pennsylvania, and Susan Higgins-Krais and her husband, Peter Krais, Point Pleasant, his dear siblings, Edward and Bernadette Glennon, Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, Thomas and Alice Glennon, Greenville, North Carolina, Dr. Albert and Barbara Glennon, State College, Pennsylvania; and Marie Glennon, Danville, Pennsylvania; five loving grandchildren, Kelly and Brian Glennon, and Timothy, Molly and Seamus Higgins; his dear brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Thomas and Jean Olcese, Shamokin, Pennsylvania, Marian Keyack, Erie, Pennsylvania, and Peggy Glennon, Elysburg, Pennsylvania; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, on Monday, March 16, 2015 from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Freehold. Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold. Donations in his memory to Our Lady of Lourdes Regional School, 2001 Clinton Avenue, Coal Township, PA 17866 would be appreciated.
