Obituary of Armatrue Simmons

Armatrue Simmons, 82, of Freehold died March 26, 2015 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was born in Alachua County, Florida and resided in Freehold for most of her life. She was a graduate of Freehold High School. She was the proprietor of Trudy’s Beauty Nook, Freehold and was a beautician at Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital. In the 1970's and 1980's she was a beautician for the NJ Disability Services, Woodbridge. Mrs. Simmons attended the Englishtown Community Refuge Church, Englishtown. She was predeceased by a son Roy Kelly, in 2001, a sister, Willie Odessa Brown, and a granddaughter, Shakita Crudup, in 2008. Surviving are her husband John H. Simmons; a daughter, Denise Postell; four grandchildren, Zakia, and her husband, Al, Allahsha, Shaqueena, and Royshawn; and ten great grandchildren. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Englishtown Community Refuge Church, Englishtown on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold.
