Dear Gwen, Laura, Gail and Family,
My condolences to all of you on your mom's passing. I was home in Freehold this weekend to pick up my mom to take her to her 72nd high school reunion. Learning about your family's loss at the same time makes me even more appreciative of our annual girls' adventure, along with a family dinner and her overnight stay with us at the beach.
I remember Mrs. Vastbinder as a woman with books all around her! Didn't she also love crossword puzzles? And she read the entire paper everyday! I can fully hear her Chicago accent as she shared stories and it makes me smile. She was a terrific lady and wicked smart. In my mind's eye, each of her daughters favored her.
I wish you all peaceful hearts as your mom is celebrated and remembered by family and friends.
