Obituary of Sam Gregory, Jr.

Sam Gregory, Jr., 79 of Jackson Township passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born in Baskerville, Virginia and had lived in Freehold prior to moving to Jackson Township six years ago.

Mr. Gregory was a security guard for Freehold Raceway for over 20 years, retiring ten years ago.

He was predeceased by his wife, Hilda; and his brothers Charlie L. Gregory and James E. Gregory.

Surviving are his sons, Rodney Scott Gregory and Noel Gregory; his daughter, Dawn Gregory; three brothers, Joseph E. Gregory, William R. Gregory, and Ernest L. Gregory; three sisters, Mary Woods, Queen G. Young, and Gloria Harrison; nine grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, on Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold.
