Obituary of Anna Gaj
Anna Gaj, 96, of Freehold died Monday, September 16, at home lovingly surrounded by her children. She was born in Czerkasy, Ukraine. Arriving in America from Germany by ship in 1951. She moved to Freehold with her husband Joseph, passed away in 2003 and two sons. Anna was employed at Atlantic Frocks as a seamstress for 35 years and a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.
She enjoyed cooking for family and friends, gardening, canning fruits and vegetables, dancing, fishing and sharing her love with all who knew her, especially her pets.
Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren to whom she always would have a hug and cookies and ice cream.
Surviving are her children Marian and Kathy Gaj of Millstone Township, Paul and Donna Gaj of Bayville and four grandchildren, Jason and Virginia of Lacey Township, Jaqueline and Cameroon Green of Lanoka Harbor, Janelle Gaj of Westchester, Pa and Joseph and Cristina Gaj of Howell, five cherished great grandchildren, Sienna, Laila, Giuliana, Gavin and Grace Lynn.
Calling hours will be from 10:00 am until noon on Thursday, September 19, at Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold. Funeral services will be celebrated at noon at the funeral home followed by interment in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold
