To The Entire DeRosa Family,
Please know that Al, and you all are in Kathy’s and my thoughts and prayers. I got to know Al 5 years ago when I first joined the Blue Knights. Al was the first member that welcomed me in and made me feel like family.
I will miss Al so much. Please know he was a Man Amongst Men, someone that we all looked up to. I will never forget him and feel I was very luck to have had the opportunity to call him my brother and friend.
If you need anything Kathy and I will be there for all of you. God Bless Big Al and God Bless you all.
Love always,
Joe and Kathy

Al DeRosa ,
Although we have never met, I have had the pleasure of hearing about you from a mutual friend in the Blue Knights
MC club . The kind words used to describe you, made me wish I did know you "Kind soul".
Thank you for your many years of service to our county.
My condolences to your family and dearest friends .

My most sincere condolences to the family of my brother Al. He was a charismatic figure in my life. A man of respect and wisdom, a father figure to me and others who had the pleasure of knowing him. In short he was a class act who was loved by all. Knowing what a huge patriot and advocate of the memory of 9/11 that Al was I don't believe it was a coincidence that Al passed away on 9/11, I believe it was Al's will and God granted him his wish. It's very sad but appropriate that Al passed on a day that is synonymous with the passing of heros.
May God bless his soul and may he rest in eternal peace.
Until we ride again my brother...

I am a member of BKNJXV. I just moved to North Carolina a few weeks ago , but I had the honor and privilege of getting to know Al over the past 8 years. He was a humble and proud man. He loved his family deeply and also his country. It was amazing to see the pride in Al every time we went on a ride and he rode that memorial bike he loved so much. When ever he saw me he would say hey kid I love you. Well Big Al I love you too. God bless!

So sorry for your loss, wish we lived closer to pay our final respects for Al. Always called me the son he never had.We shared alot of good times together.I especially remember, we were on a Harley trip in France and he wanted to room with his "adopted" son, so i wake up in the middle of the night to find him sleeping in the bathtub? He said , I snored so loud that he couldn't get any sleep.....even with the door closed in the bathroom...lol. I always loved to bust his chops about everything, just to get him going. I will really miss a dear friend and a great guy. Rest in peace, Al ......Always remember the rides and the laughs we had. Also when we were in France together, Tony Pirretti would eat everything under the sun, Al , ham and cheese every meal, and of course i would have to bust chops about that. The last time we talked, I invited him down to out new house in Florida. I wished he could have seen and we could have gone for a ride but that never happened.............God speed AL!!!!!!

Al had a smile and presence that could light up a room. He always asked how I was, whenever we met. When I first came to the Blue Knights Chapter XV. He treated me as if I already was a member. I saw his bike for the first time and I saw the passion he had for this country. He will be missed, my thoughts and prayers go out to you.

Big Al. He would fill a room with his smile and always put his hand out and said hello to everyone in the room. His bike was his pride and joy along with his family and friends. It was always a special time riding with Big Al . He will be missed and never forgotten. To be Big Al was a man who cared and represented what people should do and show on 911 . May god keep you safe Big Al and look over your family . Love and much respect.

To know Big Al was to love him! His and Franny's hospitality is legendary and they made you instantly feel like you were a part of their large and loving family. Over the years our group of friends had the pleasure of riding our Harleys with Big Al all over the U.S. and Europe from the landing beaches of Normandy to the Alps to the top of the Rock of Gibraltar. Big Al was always up for an adventure, but no matter where we went he always missed Franny's cooking and he would say at every meal: "This (pasta, steak, appetizer, dessert, etc,) is good, but Franny makes it better!" He was a patriotic guy with a huge heart and sense of humor and I will always remember him and his wonderful family.

Dawn and the whole DeRosa Family. I was sad to hear of your Husband and Dad's passing today. I still see Mr. D coming into a room with his big smile , that smile would bring energy and happiness into any room he walked in. I also have a vivid memory of Dawn's wedding and the joy he had celebrating not only because Dawn was being married but that he was sharing his joy with others.

Big Al is an appropriate nickname for Al, without a doubt he was bigger than life. Invariably he would brightened my day when I went to the Baldachino construction trailer to meet with Jerry, he had a kind word for everyone, he helped everyone, he always provided humor and warmed, and I for one will miss him.
I wish him God's speed and eternal peace and pray that his family and friends (me included) will keep in mind as we grieve for him, that although we miss him, we should be celebrating the full and wonderful life he had. Rest in Peace.
