I had a chance to get to know Al a bit when we were on a trip to visit the sites of 8th AAF airfields in England back in 2000. We had a wonderful visit with a small group of 8th vets and were treated to a presentation by the great 8th historian, the late Roger Freeman. I have a sample of Al's artwork that he sent to me in my collection of 8th AAF memorabilia. He was a talented artist- and a grand all-around guy. We can all learn from the examples he set in his life. Rest in Peace- John C. Raiser

Al was one of my favorite coworkers at Churchill Jr High. He coached my so David in football. He was a born history teacher, with so many true stories from WWII. Heaven’s choir just got a great new addition. Ed Christensen

I carpooled to school with Al for many years after the gas crisis until his retirement. I loved his stories about his war experiences and his passion for his family. Pish, as he was known, left you smiling after early morning and late day rides to and from Freehold to East Brunswick. Drew Madajewski
