Obituary of Robert S. Griffin
Robert S. Griffin, 80, of Marlboro Township died at home on Thursday, December 20, 2018. He was born in New York City.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1962.
He was a lighting director at ABC Television, New York City where he was awarded an Emmy for his work on All My Children.
Mr. Griffin was a member of Theatrical Union Local No. 1, New York City.
He was a member of B.P.O.E. Lodge No. 1454, Freehold.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Cynthia Griffin, in 2003; his parents, Robert and Amy Griffin; and a brother, Richard Griffin.
Surviving are his wife, Meryl Griffin; two sons, Robert Griffin, New Egypt and Thomas Griffin and wife Lauren, Jackson Township; two daughters, Maureen Colandrea, Howell Township and Lorraine Tweitmann and husband, Thomas, Jackson Township; a daughter-in-law, Joanne Hinton; his stepdaughters, Michelle Wellner and her fiancé Bob Pruchnik and Ellisa Madsen; eight grandchildren, Dominick Colandrea and wife Bianca, Angel Freeman and husband Jason, Samantha Ribera and husband Matthew, Robert J. Griffin, Jr., Frank and Annalee Tweitmann, and Chloe and Phoebe Griffin; four great grandchildren, Georgia, Claire, and Griffin Freeman and Aurora Colandrea; and his step grandchildren, Jaclyn and Dylan Wellner.
The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Friday, December 21, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. The interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah at 12:00 p.m.
Elks Lodge services will be held on Friday at 7:15 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations to Army of Hope, Care of B.P.O.E. Lodge No 1454, Freehold would be appreciated.
