Obituary of Bernard Hochberg

Bernard “Nardie” Hochberg, of Freehold Township died on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at home. He was a lifelong Freehold resident. He was a graduate of Freehold Regional High School, Class of 1960 where he was class valedictorian and graduated with honors from Lehigh University in 1963 with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration. He was an active member of the Freehold Jewish Center/Congregation Agudath Achim and served several terms as president of the congregation. He was a past president of the Jewish Federation of Greater Monmouth County. He was the third-generation owner and operator of Millhurst Mills, Manalapan Township, a family business established in 1925. Nardie was a generous humanitarian and a philanthropist who supported many organizations in Freehold, Monmouth County, and Israel. He is survived by his wife, Khanna Hochberg; two daughter, Karen Barnes and Robin Mintz; and five grandsons, Jake, Ethan, Eric, Joey, and Dylan. Funeral services will be held at the Freehold Jewish Center, 59 Broad Street, Freehold on Tuesday at noon followed by interment at Congregation Sons of Israel Cemetery, Manalapan Township.
