Obituary of Dolores Conover Pryce

Dolores Conover Pryce was called from earthly labor to her rest on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick Township. She was the daughter of the late Olga Conover and James Stroud, Sr. She was born on April 1, 1937 in Long Branch, New Jersey. She was a licensed practical nurse at Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital for 37 years before her retirement. She was president of the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees. She was predeceased by an aunt, Elizabeth Fitzpatrick. She leaves to mourn her homegoing her cousin and caregiver, Patricia Fitzpatrick; her sisters, Gale Averheart, Trenton, Maxine Mayo, New York City; her brothers, Walter Stroud, Hazelwood, Missouri, and Leroy Conover, West Virginia; sisters-in-law, May Stroud, Ocean, Vashti Baskerville, Tennessee; her nephews, Kenneth Stroud, Jr., Jackson Township, Aaron Averheart, Trenton, Gregory Stroud, Ocean, Troy Stroud, Tennessee, Jimmie Stroud Jonathan Stroud, both of Browns Mills, William Mayo, New York, James Mayo, Bronx, N.Y., her nieces, Jessica Stroud, New York, Kim Stroud, Charlotte, N.C., Lavi Stroud, Freehold, Cynthia Stroud, Massachusetts; two dear friends, Wilma Askew and Freda Powell; a Godson, Louis Brown, III; a Goddaughter, Lanette Fitzpatrick; and a host of great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Monday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. The interment will be held at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent.
