Obituary of Phyllis Ryer

Phyllis Ryer, 78 of Englishtown, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune Township. She was born in Long Branch. Mrs. Ryer was a registered nurse for Karen Ingram, M.D., Somerset, for 15 years, retiring 20 years ago. Prior to that, she was employed by St. Peter’s Medical Center, New Brunswick. She was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Freehold, where she served as a lay minister. Surviving are her husband, Paul M. Ryer; two sons and daughters-in-law, Andrew and Sharon Galbraith Ryer, Hightstown, and Paul H. and Susan Ryer, Hingham, Massachusetts; and four grandchildren, Sam, Emily, Tom and Audrey Ryer. Funeral services will be held at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 33 Throckmorton Street, Freehold, on Saturday October 6, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. Donations in her memory to St. Peter’s Church Memorial Fund would be appreciated. Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
