Obituary of Howard Alan Dean

Howard Alan Dean, 90, of Cliffwood Beach, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune Township. He was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on July 6, 1928, and had lived in the Monmouth County area for over 60 years. Mr. Dean was a professional opera singer who sang with several opera companies in the tristate area, most recently with the Metro Lyric Opera Company, Asbury Park. Prior to that, he worked in the labs at I.F.F., Union Beach; and was a programmer for local computer companies. He was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Monmouth County, Lincroft, for over 50 years. He was predeceased by his first wife, Beverly Lakso Dean in 1983, and his son, David Dean, in 2000. Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Tatiana Dean; his daughters and sons-in-law, Rachel and Gary Hampton, Rebecca Raffa and her husband Paul Presti, and Susan and Morgan McNulty; His siblings, David Dean, Margie Misenar, and Dorothy Miller; ten grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Monmouth County, 1475 West Front Street, Lincroft, NJ 07738.
