Obituary of Gertrude Ann Parson

Gertrude Ann Parson, 91, of Freehold returned to her heavenly Father on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Meridian Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Brick Township. She was born on Staten Island, N.Y. and was a lifelong resident of Freehold. She was predeceased by her husband of 39 years, George Andrew Parson in 1983 and by her longtime companion William Felton in 1996. She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Shuemaker and husband Al and Barbara Parson and husband Larry Davenport; a brother, Charles McKeever; three grandchildren, Barbara Matassa, Sherrie Britton, and Christopher Britton; and three great grandchildren. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold. Gertrude was employed for the McGraw Hill Company, the Freehold Borough Police Department as a violations clerk, and Jamison Bus Company before her retirement. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent.
