Obituary of Forman K. Suydam

Forman K. Suydam, 83, of Manalapan Township died on June 13, 2018 at The Manor, Freehold Township. He was born in Englishtown and was a lifelong resident of the area. He operated Forman Suydam Excavating and worked with many builders in the local area. Forman attended the First Presbyterian Church of Englishtown. He had served in the Army National Guard. Forman enjoyed spending time with family, tending his vegetable garden, repairing heavy equipment, and helping friends and neighbors with their home and farm projects. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Gloria Mary Gregory Suydam; three sons, Michael Suydam, James Suydam and wife Joyce, and Robert Suydam and wife Donna; a daughter, Ann Marie Widmer; his sisters, Nancy Bergmann and husband Hal, Jean Ackerman, Mary Ann Kazlauskas, and Susan Sullivan and husband Robert; eight grandchildren, Kenneth Widmer and wife Amy, Joshua Suydam and husband Kyle, Jennifer Suydam, Timothy Suydam, Thomas Widmer and wife Meagan, and Maria, Andrew, and Tara Suydam; five great grandchildren, Kenneth, Callie and Carmine Widmer and Dallas and Kylie Suydam; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Association or VNA Hospice would be appreciated.
